Ismail Kadare quotes Veprore Shehu in his book "About crimes in the Balkans; Grim correspondence"

There is an estimation of approximately 20,000 women and girls raped during the war, often in the eyes of the family. According to Kosovo Albanian humanist, Veprore Shehu, who complained a few weeks before about the shameful silence. We had no reasons to get embarrased neither by Carla del Ponte, nor by Dick Marty. It was sufficient to put on the scales of justice killed babies raped women,that the other side of the scale could not be shaken by anything.
