Combatting Gender Based Violence: Refugee Women and girls in Turkey

Medica Kosova was participated in the UN Human Rights Thematic Group for 2 days in Ankara where representatives from Finnish, Swedish Government and EU delegations in Turkey spoke about existing service delivery structures among main stakeholders on SGBV prevention and response for refugee women and girls in multiple sectors. The workshop also delivered a number of recommendations on how to improve these services and support refugee women and girls in Turkey and other countries involved in refugee crisis.

Veprore Shehu spoke in the panel about examples of Kosovo best practices in supporting survivors of sexual violence during the war and ways Medica Kosova had approached survivors during the emergency period and immediately after the war.
