Medica Kosova and women beneficiaries stayed in Istanbul for 5 days

The visit of 20 war affected women and 8 staff members of Medica Kosova in Istanbul was characterized as one of the best and rare experiences for the women participating in this journey. During the 5 days of stay, women visited various cultural monuments and historical buildings including the "Topkapi Palace" Sultan Ahmed Mosque, sailling through the Bosporus, Miniaturk, and many other monuments with historical value of the Ottoman Empire.

Medica Kosova was welcomed by the Minister for Welfare and Social Policy Mrs.Fatma Sahin who provided lunch and organized a press conference at the White Palace in Emigran, and enabled the visit of various associations dealing with women artisans. Participants were also welcomed by the First Lady of Istanbul, Association of Albanians in Turkey, wife of the Ambassador of Kosovo in Turkey Mrs.Sebahate Spahiu together with representatives of the Kosovo Consulate in Istanbul.

This trip was made possible by the Turkish Embassy in Kosovo who requested support from the Ministry of Welfare and Social Policy in Ankara, as well as through logistic and technical assistance provided by KFOR LMT-s in Prizren and Gjakova.
