Next meeting of the National Council for the Survivors of Sexual Violence

National Council for the Survivors of Sexual Violence during the War, founded and led by the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, held the next meeting of the working group on economic empowerment of survivors of sexual violence during the war.

Participants in the meeting were members of the National Council for the Survivors of Sexual Violence, members from governmental institutions and non-governmental women's organizations, and representatives of international organizations, diplomatic missions in Kosovo and financial institutions.

At this meeting they discussed about the possibility of providing mitigating measures and support for the inclusion of this category of vulnerable groups into schemes, programs and tools provided by the institutions that have the mandate to provide economic empowerment opportunities.

Economic empowerment of this category of civilian victims of war was assessed as essential part of the process of reparation to ensure rehabilitation, reintegration and social inclusion of the survivors of sexual violence during the war.
